Face Reality Acne Program

Acne is a mysterious skin disorder, but it can be controlled with the right combination of products, used in the correct way.

Face Reality Skincare has a clear-skin system that will have your acne under control in about three to four months, depending on your type of acne. We combine the power of clinical-grade products that are customized for your type of acne, with a series of bi-weekly or monthly treatments. We also teach you about other aggravating factors that make you break out – foods, medications, cosmetics, stress, and common ingredients in skin care formulations that might be clogging your pores (even professional and prescription products).

The most important aspect of our system is not just starting you with the right products, but we teach you how to use them. We test your skin to make sure you are getting the most effective products for your acne type, skin type, and skin tolerance. It won’t be enough just to have the right products – it’s all about having the right routine for those products. You will learn how to use products slowly at first, so that your skin stays receptive without causing irritation or dehydration. But skin can become accustomed to products and then become less effective over time – that is why we will adjust your regimen little by little, to get rid of your acne.

Microneedling is a method used to treat different skin conditions/concerns. The technique involves using multiple tiny, sterile needles to puncture the skin and cause a controlled physical trauma. This trauma triggers the skin to repair itself. The purpose of this treatment is to generate new collagen and elastin for smoother, firmer, more toned skin.

Microneedling helps to reduce:

-Fine lines and wrinkles

-Scars (acne, wounds, aging)

-Hyperpigmentation and evens skin tone

-Pore size

-Improves the quality and texture of your skin

Microneedling is minimally invasive, with little downtime (minor redness and irritation for 2-3 days after treatment).

Each service takes about 1-1 1/2 hours and includes aftercare.

Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin on the face, neck or hands. A chemical solution is applied to the skin that causes it to exfoliate and eventually peel off. The new, regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. The new skin is also temporarily more sensitive to the sun. There are three basic types of chemical peels:

Superficial: Alpha-hydroxy acid or another mild acid is used to penetrate only the outer layer of skin to gently exfoliate it. The treatment is used to improve the appearance of mild skin discoloration and rough skin as well as to refresh the face, neck, chest or hands.

Medium peel: Glycolic or trichloroacetic acid is applied to penetrate the out and middle layers of skin to remove damaged skin cells. The treatment is used to improve age spots, fine lines and wrinkles, freckles and moderate skin discoloration. It also can be used to smooth rough skin and treat some precancerous skin growths, i.e. actinic keratosis.

Deep peel (Dermatologist depth peel): Tricholoracetic acid or phenol is applied to deeply penetrate the middle layer of skin to remove damaged skin cells. The treatment removes moderate lines, age spots, freckles and shallow scars. Patients will see a dramatic improvement in skin appearance. The procedure is used on the face and only can be performed once.

When is a chemical peel appropriate?

Chemical peels are used to treat a number of conditions including:

-Acne scars

-Aging skin

-Crow's feet

-Sun damaged skin

-Sagging skin

Are chemical peels painful?

Chemicals peels cause a stinging or itchy feeling but are not painful. The gentlest peels use alpha-hydroxy, glycolic, lactic or fruit acids are also gentle. They may cause stinging, redness, irritation and crusting but as the skin begins to adjust all these side effects will lessen.

Lash Extensions

With both classic and volume lashes there are many wonderful options for both styles. From length to curl, to shape and overall look. So, what are the benefits and difference of both techniques?

- One individual extension is applied to one individual natural lash. This method is known as 1 to 1 or 1:1.

-Great for clients with a lot of natural lashes

-Adds length and curl to natural lashes

-Ultra thin extensions are created into a fan of 2+ lashes and are applied to one individual natural lash.

-Gives a lighter, more full look while still adding length and curl to the natural lashes

-Last longer than classic lashes

-Good for clients who do not have a lot of natural lashes, bald spots, or an overall more full look

-Most natural feeling and light weight

Lash Lift

A lash lift is an advancement on the old fashioned “lash perm”. Unlike the perming rods used in the past, new specially created silicone pads lift the lashes from the root only, creating a subtle, natural looking lift, giving the illusion of length, and making the eyes appear more open.

Lash lifts are a perfect alternative for those who are sensitive to lash extensions, don't like lash extensions, or simply want an easy low maintenance treatment.

Lash lifts last 6-8 weeks. After this time period the lashes naturally relax to their normal shape.

A perfect add-on to a lash lift is a lash tint. Lash tints give a more prominent look to the lashes, especially for those who have lighter colored lashes

Face and Body Waxing

One of the most popular ways of removing unwanted body hair. After waxing it can take up to 8 weeks for hair to grow back. Waxing isn't one of the most relaxing treatments, but it certainly has its benefits.

Benefits of waxing:

-Instantly skin smooth, hair free and soft

-If hair is waxed frequently it can weaken the hair follicle and cause permanent hair loss.

-Lasts longer than shaving

-Wax sticks to the dead skin cells on your skin leaving it exfoliated and smooth

-Hair grows back softer, thinner, and often lighter

-No skin irritation

Things to know before being waxed:

-Hair growth should be 1/4''-1/2''(about three weeks of growth)

-Waxing should be done every 3-4 weeks for optimal results

-Exfoliate the area before the appointment

-Light exfoliation should be done daily to prevent in grown hairs

-If hair is longer than 1/2'' it should be trimmed before the appointment for easier and less pain during waxing
